Village Hall survey

The Village Hall Trustees are carrying out a survey to find out what people want from the village hall.  This is a more specific survey than the Community Survey recently carried out with the Parish Council.

The survey will be available until end of October 2019: Village Hall survey

Notice of Public Rights to inspect the accounts

Notice of Public Rights 2018-19

Each year the smaller authority’s Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by Smaller Authorities’ Audit Appointments Ltd.  The unaudited AGAR has been published with this notice (see Finance page). As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2019, these documents will be available on reasonable notice (see notice above for more details).

Co-option of Councillors

Notice of Uncontested Election Longford Parish

Five candidates have been elected as Parish Councillors for Longford Parish Council (see above notice); this leaves four vacancies which we can fill by co-option.  The role of Councillor is an unpaid voluntary role, and councillors can commit as much time as they wish; the main commitment is the parish meeting which takes place on the 1st Tuesday evening of the calendar month (only 8 months of the year).

Please contact the Parish Clerk if you are interested in becoming a parish councillor or come along to one of our meetings.
